New Round of COVID-19 Impact Survey Opens to Women in Loudoun

The Loudoun Commission on Women and Girls (LCWAG) has opened the second round of its COVID-19 Impact on Loudoun Women Survey. This survey series is designed to identify and monitor how the pandemic is affecting women in our community.

All women ages 18 years and older who reside in Loudoun County are invited to take this brief survey: www.lcwag.org/survey

“The high level of interest in this survey series compels our community to address unmet needs, whether that’s through new LCWAG programming or other targeted supports from local leaders,” stated LCWAG Chair Angela Mitchell.

“Our goal is to continue monitoring impact by maintaining participation rates and increasing representation rates to match the county’s demographics more closely.”

LCWAG’s winter 2020 survey received nearly 400 responses from local women. The initial findings indicate that one third of Loudoun women have one or more unmet needs. The top three unmet needs are: child care support; access to health care (including physical and mental health); and connections to employment or other workforce support.

Additional questions in this second survey aim to better understand barriers to health care access.

Faith leaders, community organizations, and other local leaders are encouraged to share the survey with their members before the submission deadline on Friday, May 21 at 5:00 p.m. LCWAG will analyze and report on the findings after the survey period has ended.
